St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
The Phi Beta chapter takes our partnership with St. Jude very seriously. This year alone, we have raised an astonishing $42,965.70 for St. Jude and that number is still growing. Phi Beta leads the West Coast Region in the amount of money made for these children. St. Jude is truly Tri Delta's hospital and the women in our chapter love raising money for such a wonderful cause.
To support St. Jude, Phi Beta holds a semi-annual all-you-can-eat pancake event called Delta House of Pancakes (DHOP)! This year we raised record amounts of money at both events. In addition, we were the first Greek chapter at the University of Arizona to put on a zero-waste philanthropy event, meaning that our event produced no garbage as everything was either recycled or composted. To learn more about the event, read this article about us in The Daily Wildcat, the University's student newspaper.
Sincerely Yours is our annual letter-writing campaign to benefit St. Jude. At this event, members are able to learn more about the commitment between St. Jude and Tri Delta. It is always very successful and allows us to continue to be one of the top fundraising Tri Delta chapters for St. Jude.
Tri Deltas are always excited to support other Greek philanthropy events. Every year, Tri Delta participates in many events, such as Sigma Chi’s Derby Days, Pi Kappa Alpha's Firefighter Challenge and Beta Theta Pi's Beta Lei Volleyball Tournament, just to name a few. We love showing our support for Greek Life and the organizations our fellow Greeks are supporting!
We also participate in the University of Arizona's Greek Week competition between all of the Greek chapters on campus. It is a fun week filled with events that bring together all of the different Greek Councils. Tri Delta placed first in the Knowledge Bowl trivia competition in 2014. We are anxiously awaiting this year's event and hope to come away with the trophy!
